Dear Family:
Children learn by doing, in a caring, compassionate and cooperative classroom and school environment. In our continuing effort to create a safe and positive learning environment, your child will be participating in a program called, "Don't Laugh at Me."
This program addresses issues of the heart, as well as the mind. Through stories, classroom discussion, videos and activities, your child will raise their awareness and explore feelings of respect and social responsibilities and build upon conflict resolution skills they've learned already.
The program is separated into four main categories, each with different stories and activities to reinforce lessons. These categories are:
- Expressing Feelings
- Caring, Compassion, and Cooperation
- Resolving Conflicts Creatively
- Celebrating Diversity
